Church History
A committed and courageous group of Christian men and women established the New
Revelation Missionary Baptist Church in the year of 1890 in the Chenango Community. The church was originally named
Little Leaf Elm. The Reverend Grant Addison was the first pastor. The church remained there until the 1900 storm
destroyed the building. The church was rebuilt on Charles Wood's place across from Kelly Lake. In 1932, our building
was once again destroyed by a storm. This site was purchased with the help of faithful members, such as Sis. Mary Clemons, Deacon
Harvey Clemons, Deacon Link Perry, Deacon James Griffin and others.
We have seen many changes to our building over the years, and has been under several different leadership.
God directed Reverend D. A. Goston, Sr., to pastor New Revelation in 1989. On December 31, 2008, Reverend
D. A. Goston, Sr., retired, and his son Reverend J. R. Goston was installed as pastor on January 4, 2009.
New Revelation has grown spiritually and financially under the leadership of the
Goston's.
